BARMER: Another incident of hate crimes has emerged this time in Rajasthan’s Barmer district, when a Muslim man was stripped and thrashed by a mob, who chanted Jai Shri Ram after he was allegedly found with a married woman in a hotel. The incident took place in Balotra town.
The victim, Pahadu khan, who is a resident of Tehsil Sayla of Jalore district, and has been referred to Jodhpur for treatment, reported DNA. According to reports, he was found with the wife of the garage owner, who employed him.
In another incident, two men were stripped, beaten and had their heads tonsured following the diktat of a local Khap Panchayat in Rajasthan’s Nagaur district. Both men were accused of eloping with a minor.
They eloped with the girl as one of them wanted to marry her. However, when they realised that the girl was a minor, they came to return her to her village, where both were thrashed.
Rajasthan is being governed by the BJP with Vasundhara Raje Scindia as the chief minister. The state has witnessed several instances of law and order breakdown in the recent past. A Muslim dairy farmer Pehlu Khan was lynched to death by the Hindutva terrorists masquarading as cow vigilantes in the state’s Alwar district. His death had caused international outrage.
