Aligarh: There is no need for minority communities to fear anything as Indian Constitutions is above all. Some people are attempting to defame the government said Chairperson of the National Commission for Minorities Syed Ghayorul Hasan Rizvi while addressing the national seminar on Sir Syed Ahmad Khan & Contemporary Challenges organized by the Aligarh Movement magazine on the occasion of 200th Birth anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan in Boys Polytechnic Auditorium today as Chief Guest.
He said that Modi government has lunched many schemes for the minorities but they could not be publicized among masses in an effective way. Now we are making aware people about them with active cooperation of the Minority Welfare ministry.
Shri Syed Ghayorul Hasan Rizvi said that people like Sir Syed take birth in centuries and National Commission for Minorities will recommend for bestowing upon Sir Syed Bharat Ratan award. He said that we will publicize the welfare measures of the government among minority people.
Editor of The Aligarh Movement magazine Dr. Jasim Mohammad said that the educational movement, philosophy and thoughts of Sir Syed are even relevant today. He reminded that Sir Syed had also emphasized upon the social reforms with education and we should adopt fresh ideas and thoughts of the changing times for our social progress. Dr. Jasim Mohammad said that presently people have forgotten the movement launched by Sir Syed .
AMU Court member Prof. Humayun Murad said that Sir Syed had dreamed a cultured society and the best tribute to him will be creation of an educated gentle society.
Prof. Maula Baksh Ansari of AMU said that manners are an important component in Sir Syed philosophy and we must develop an educated society. On the occasion the winners of Sir Syed Essay Writing Competition were awarded prizes and the Jamia Public School has been awarded Best school prize.
At the same time National Commission for Minorities Chairperson Shri Syed Ghayorul Hasan Rizvi honored Jamia Urdu Aligarh OSD Farhat Ali Khan, President of Manav Upkar Sanstha (Aligarh) Vishnu Kumar Bunty, former Dean of Arts faulty in AMU Prof. Shaik Mastan, eminent writer of Ghazipur Obaidur Rahman Siddiqui with Sir Syed Excellence Award.
A book containing quotations of Sir Syed compiled by Dr. Jasim Mohammad ‘Sir Syed Speaks’ has been also released on the occasion. Earlier NCM Chairperson Syed Ghayorul Hasan Rizvi paid a visit to Sir Syed Mazar with Dr Jasim Mohammad to pay him his respect and tribute.
Apart of large number of teachers, students and eminent citizen notably Mrs. Nikhat Parveen, Bilquis Jahan, Dr. Furqan Sambhali, Dr. Fatima Zehra, Dr. Daulat Ram, Amod Gulzar, were also present in the seminar .
