Main petitioner in the demolition case, Iqbal Ansari added that he does not want any more arguments over the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute.
With the temple-mosque dispute being put to rest, closure for the Babri Masjid demolition case should be achieved without any politics and as soon as possible, petitioner Iqbal Ansari has said.
Main petitioner in the Babri Masjid demolition case, Iqbal Ansari added that he does not want any more arguments over the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute. To achieve this, Ansari believes that the special CBI court should follow in the footsteps of the Supreme Court and deliver justice in the Babri Masjid demolition case without wasting any more time.
Iqbal Ansari has clearly stated that whatever needed to be done by the Supreme Court with respect to the temple-mosque conflict has already been done and any disputes arising from the same have been put to rest. Everyone has respected the apex court’s verdict and the special CBI court overseeing the Babri Masjid demolition case should also aim for speedy closure.
Now, there should be no fight over Ram Janmabhoomi and Babri Masjid and communalism should not exist in our country and any such dispute should be put to rest and not pursued any further, petitioner Iqbal Ansari said.
The special CBI court is scheduled to record statements of those accused in the Babri Masjid demolition case on June 4. Among those whose names feature in the list of the accused are BJP leaders LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti. Special Judge SK Yadav is presiding over the case and the statements of the accused will be recorded under section 313 of the CrPC, however, it is still unclear whether the 32 accused will be asked to present themselves to the court or appear before the judge via videoconferencing.
