A clash erupted in Poyyundarkottai village of Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur after a family claimed that a temple land, which is owned by the government, belongs to them.
Adispute broke out over a temple land owned by the government after a family in Poyyundarkottai village of Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur after a family claimed that the land belonged to them.
This led to an argument between the family and the villagers.
As the argument continued, a man named Chinnarasu started attacking people with a sword and subsequently, a group of people starting hurling logs in retaliation.
Around eight people have been severely injured in the clash and are undergoing treatment at the Thanjavur Government College Hospital.
Three people, including Chinnarasu, have been arrested, police said.
