UP Block panchayat polls: BJP, allies claim victory on 635 seats; PM Modi congratulates CM Adityanath

BJP and its allies have claimed victory on 635 seats in the elections for the post of Block panchayat chief in Uttar Pradesh.

The Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies have claimed victory on more than 635 seats in the polls for the post of the block panchayat chief in Uttar Pradesh.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the poll results show the public favouring the BJP and claimed that this was due to the ruling government’s successful implementation of the Centre’s schemes and policies.

CM Yogi said, “Seven years ago, PM Modi gave the slogan of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ to this country. The plans that were made reached everyone. The state government and the organisations took the schemes to the people. Panchayat election results are a living example of this.”

The UP CM congratulated all winning candidates and also thanked BJP workers. “I congratulate all the BJP workers who risked their lives to help others during the Corona period. This victory has been achieved because of those who have got such huge support,” he said.

Expressing his gratitude towards the State Election Commission for conducting the panchayat elections during the pandemic, CM Adityanath thanked the state police and the Pradeshik Armed Constabulary (PAC) for ensuring that the polls are conducted in a peaceful manner.

He also condoled the death of on-duty officials who lost their lives to Covid-19.

Meanwhile, UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh said on Saturday, “The victory that we have got is the effect of schemes for CM Yogi. Law and order is tight. Women can go out even at 12 am in the night. There is no corruption anywhere. BJP has got a bumper victory. This is the hard work of all the party workers.”

PM MODI CONGRATULATES YOGI ADITYANATH

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to congratulate CM Yogi Adityanath on his victory.

“Even in the election of block chiefs in Uttar Pradesh @BJP4UP He has raised his flag.@myogiadityanath The benefits that the people have got from the government’s policies and public interest schemes have been reflected in the party’s massive victory. All the party workers deserve congratulations for this victory,” PM Modi said.
